Overlocker Basics

Do you have an overlocker sitting unused because you are not sure how to use it, or get frustrated with the threading up? This three hour workshop will help you learn the basics. Bring along your own overlocker and we will guide you through all the basics. You will leave the workshop with printed notes and an array of samples.

You will learn:

  • How to thread up from scratch and then re-thread the quick way
  • Master the tension adjustments
  • How to adjust the cutting widths
  • Understand the differential feed and what it will do
  • Use your overlocker to neaten edges and create seams on a range of fabric

You will need to bring: Overlocker, manuel, pedal, spare needles, screwdriver or needle key and  tweezers. Fabric swatches (cotton, chiffon/georgette & jersey), threads and all other equipment are included in the cost,  though if you have a particularly unusual fabric you would like to work on please bring it along.
