Make a Vintage Style Apron

These gorgeous aprons are ideal for domestic goddesses, as a special treat for yourself, or as a lovely, unique gift for someone special. You will learn a range of skills during this workshop which can be applied to a range of other garments. Be as creative and bold as you please by adding your own unique trimmings and finishes. You will take away your own pattern so you can carry on creating!

You will learn:

  • Copy, measure & make your own pattern
  • Gathering & pleating
  • Adding bias
  • How to create a neat finish
  • Top stitch
  • Make a decorative brooch (if time)

You will need: 1 metre of cotton fabric (for the main apron), 3/4 metre of contrast fabric for frills and ties, 4 metres of bias (I do have bias at the workshop but colours/patterns are limited). I have thread but if you are using an unusual colour please bring along. This is enough for a knee length apron.

Additional costs: None, all tools, equipment and refreshments are included in the cost.

Suitable for: Someone who can use a sewing machine or has attended the beginners or basic sewing workshops.
