Introduction to lycra - Make a lycra leotard or catsuit

In this one day workshop you will learn to master the art of working with Lycra and stretch fabrics. You will make a one piece leotard or a full body catsuit with sleeves, collar & zip. You will learn how to make your catsuit fit you like a glove. Basic leotard and catsuit patterns will be provided, which can be adjusted to your measurements. You will also be given a choice of plain coloured Lycra to choose from: black, red, blue, yellow or pink. Please provide basic size information when booking the course (i.e UK size 12) so we know roughly what size patterns to bring along. Please also specify if you would like to make a leotard (cut off at the hips) or a catsuit (full length legs) so we know how much fabric you will need. This is a beginners course so we will work with plain Lycra, with the option to move on to designing and making your own embellished Lycra catsuit, with glitter and sequins galore if so desired! Come along and give it a go and make yourself something daring and fabulous

You will learn:

  • How to work from a pre cut pattern and adapt to your size

  • How to handle stretch fabrics

  • How to make a Lycra gusset
  • How to put a zip into Lycra
