1940's Tea Dress - Sew Over It

The 1940’s Tea Dress is a beautiful vintage-inspired dress that can be made for everyday or dressed up for an occasion. The dress features a gathered bust detail, a panelled midriff and skirt, flattering elbow length sleeves and lovely contrast cuffs. Why not add three decorative buttons down the centre front for a lovely extra bit of interest. This is a two day workshop for the more experienced sewer. You will provided with your own pattern so if you prefer to trace your size rather than cut your pattern please let me know in advance as this will need to be traced at home.

You will learn:

  • how to fit & adjust a toile
  • add gathers to create shape
  • insert sleeves & add cuffs (optional)
  • sew with delicate fabric (optional)
  • cover buttons (optional)

You will need: Please refer to the table for fabric amounts depending on your size. Suggested fabrics are listed but you could also use a lightweight cotton. If you are unsure please contact me. This is a two day course running from 10am-3.30pm on the 12th & 13th June 2021.

Suitable for: Intermediate, someone who is confident making garments.
