After School Sewing Workshops - Make a Garment from a pattern

This 4 week course will teach your child how to follow a simple pattern of their choice to create a unique and individual garment using a range of machine and hand sewing skills. Patterns should be labelled as 'Very Easy', and ideally a simple dress, pyjama bottoms, skirt or top.

You will learn:

  • How to follow a simple pattern
  • Cut and prepare the pattern & fabric
  • Machine & hand sew a range of fabrics
  • Use various stitches
  • Individualise items

Please note: This course of workshops runs every Wednesday 4.15 - 5.45pm  on;  3/5, 10/5, 7/6 & 14/6/23. There is no session on the 24th & 31st May. If your child has not attended before you will be required to fill out a consent form prior to the workshop (this will be emailed to you).

Additional costs: You will need to bring a 'very easy' pattern ideally Simplicity, Butterick or New Look. If you are unsure please contact me. Please check sizes and buy appropriate fabrics for garment (this is normally specified on the back of the pattern).

Suitable for:  Someone who has used a sewing machine.
