Roman Blind Workshop

Learn to create a beautiful Roman Blind for your house. You will be making a sample blind (Max size 75cm wide x 100cm drop).

You will learn how to make a professionally finished roman blind and fittings to help you create your own at home. If your window is smaller or the same size as the sample you are welcome to bring your own fabric so you can use the blind but please let me know as the kits are cut to the sample size.

You will learn:

  • Cutting  fabric and lining to the correct size       Roman-Blind
  • Working  out perfect horizontal folds
  • Sewing on rings by hand
  • Making a neat heading baton
  • Cording up and finishing

You will need to bring: Everything is provided but if you wish to bring your own fabric please bring firm woven cotton or linen curtain fabric, plain or patterned (at least 10cms wider and 30cms longer than finished blind) and cotton lining (allow 30cms longer than blind size). Due to space in the studio the finished blind cannot be bigger than the sample size. Matching thread.

Additional Costs: None, the price includes, use of sewing machines, equipment and the kit for your Roman Blind including fabric, lining, wood, cord, rings, velcro etc.

Knowledge Level:  Basic arithmetic (for working out folds). Confidence in cutting fabric. Suitable for anyone who can thread a sewing machine and sew in a straight line.
