Mohair Bear Workshop

Come along and learn how to make a gorgeous  heirloom Mohair Bear which can be passed down through generations. All bears have moveable joints & are made using traditional methods. These unique skills are invaluable in creating such individual & collectable pieces which will be treasured forever. All materials are included which include the Helmbold German mohair. These are not suitable for children under the age of 14. Bears stand at approx. 11" tall.

You will learn:                                                               

  • Cutting & placement of the pattern
  • How to sew mohair
  • Stuff & weight the bear
  • Joint your bear using cotter pin joints
  • Ladder stitch to secure the seams of your bear & attach the ears
  • Hand sew glass eyes
  • Embroider your bears nose

Additional costs: None, everything is included in the price.

Suitable for: Someone who has an understanding of hand sewing is essential, as making your bear will include hand sewing. You should also know how to use a sewing machine.

This is a two day course on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September 2020 10-3.30pm. There will need to be a minimum of 3 attendees for the workshop to go ahead.
