Intro to Sashiko hand embroidery zoom session

This workshop will teach you the basic hand embroidery techniques of Sashiko.

Meaning ‘little stabs’ this style of embroidery has been traditionally used as a mending technique. In more recent times however, it has taken the crafting world by storm, often seen as a beautiful embellishment on clothing, bags and homeware.

During this session you will learn 3 Sashiko designs and a little of the history behind this intricate technique. You will create 3 small samplers, enabling you to progress onto your own designs, or embellishing existing pieces.

You will learn:                                       

  • A brief history of Sashiko
  • The technique behind the stitches
  • 3 Sashiko stitches in detail

Additional costs: None, everything is included within the price. You will be sent your kit prior to the workshop.

Suitable for: Anyone, no previous sewing or embroidery experience required.
