Beginners - Make a simple Patchwork Christmas runner

Create a gorgeous patchwork Christmas table runner ready for the special day. Express your creativity to make it as colourful and decorative as you please. An ideal size is 5 x 12 squares but this can be decided by you. Charm packs usually come in packs of 42 so you can either cut some additional squares or buy 2 packs. If yo prefer to make a throw or placemats just let me know!

You will learn:

  • Measuring
  • Making templates
  • Joining patches on the sewing machine
  • Adding batting to create warmth and depth
  • Finishing edges by making your own unique decorative edge
  • Advice & demonstration of machine stippling to add interest (optional)

Additional costs:  One charm pack of 60 x 5" squares (or your own choice).  Half  metre of  batting (wadding can also be used but not as effective, I have this for sale at the studio). Coordinating cotton backing; enough for the length x width plus approximately 0.35 metres for edging .  All tools, refreshments and haberdashery are included in the price.

Knowledge level: Suitable for someone who can use a sewing machine.
