Learn to crochet
Crochet is the perfect craft for a beginner as all you need to get started is a hook, some yarn and lots of enthusiasm!
In this course we shall start at the very beginning with basic chains and wind our way through doubles, trebles with some increasing, decreasing and fancy bits along the way. The course is spread across 4 sessions which will allow us to build our knowledge gradually with lots of time for getting to grips with pattern reading and any questions you have.
Over the sessions you will learn,
Project 1 Jar Cosies
- Foundation chain
- Double crochet
- Working in rows
- Decreasing
- Adding a decorative border
Project 2 Rainbows
- Treble crochet
- Treble crochet increase
- Changing colour
- Working in the round
Project 3 The Granny Square
- Working into a ring
- Working a sequence of stitches
- Using and making spaces
- Joining squares with crochet/mattress stitch
Suitable for: Complete beginner. This course runs over 4 weeks on a Monday 10am-12.30pm from the 20th January to 10th February 2025.
Additional costs: None, everything is included in the cost. Refreshments & biscuits are available throughout the workshop.
