Patchwork jacket course

Keep up with the fashion by making your own unique quilted patchwork jacket. These look great in a range of fabrics, patterns & colours and can be personalised to create your  own style, great for using up fabric scraps! Jackets are lined in a contrast or coordinating fabric and can be made waist length or slightly longer. You can even make it reversible!

You will learn:

  • to measure & cut a range of  fabrics
  • fit a toile
  • machine quilt your fabric
  • add piping (optional) or edging
  • add rouleau loops/buttons
  • add lining

Additional costs: You will need to make your patchwork panels (if using) prior to the course for the fronts & sleeves (back is plain).  I will let you know sizes once I have your measurements.  You will need 2 metres of cotton/linen fabric for the outer & 2 for the lining (if not using patchwork), 1 x fat quarter for contrast piping/edging, 4/5 buttons & matching thread.  I will prepare a toile prior to the workshop, this can be used for the backing of the quilting, I will also provide batting & piping cord. Patterns will be provided. This is a two day course on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July 2024.

Suitable for: Someone who is confident using a sewing machine and is able to make simple garments.
