This series of workshops will teach you a range of basic sewing skills that are needed to complete and finish a range of projects including; dressmaking, soft furnishings, alterations etc. The skills learnt will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to enable you to take on and finish new sewing projects.
Things you will learn:
Week one : Sewing buttonholes and covering buttons. You will make a simple purse using the skills learnt.
Week two: Inserting a zip.
Week three: Making piping & bias and adding to a small cushion.
Week four: Gathering and pleating.
Please note: If there is a particular skill you would like to learn, this can be discussed during the workshop. This is a course of 4 workshops which run every Wednesday evening 6.15-8.15pm on 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th June 2019.
Additional Costs: None, everything is included in the price but if you wish to bring your own fabric for a purse you will need approx. 1/4 metre.
Knowledge Level: Suitable for beginners or those who want to brush up on basic skills.
