Basic Sewing Skills - Weekday Course
This workshop will teach you a range of basic sewing skills that are needed to complete and finish a range of projects including; dressmaking, soft furnishings, alterations etc. The skills learnt will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to enable you to take on and finish new sewing projects.
Things you will learn:
- How to thread & use a sewing machine
- To sew buttonholes and cover buttons
- How to make a simple purse using the skills learnt
- Insert a centred zip
- Make piping & bias and add to a small cushion
- How to machine gather/ pleat and apply to a simple pin cushion
- Basic hand sewing
Additional Costs: None, everything is included in the price but if you wish to bring your own fabric for a purse and cushion you will need approx. 1/4 metre for each.
Please note: This is a two day course running on Wednesday 30th October to 6th November 2024 10am-2pm.
Knowledge Level: Suitable for beginners or those who want to brush up on basic skills.
