Quilted bag from scraps

Come along and make one of these gorgeous, unique bags inspired by the scrap challenge on the Sewing Bee.  The outer quilted fabric is created from scrap fabrics so a great way to upcycle, with a zip opening,  fully lined with an adjustable strap & handles. Great for presents!

You will learn:

  • Measure & cut accurately
  • Make fabric from scraps
  • Quilting
  • Add a  lining
  • Make handles & strap with metal clips
  • Insert a  zip
  • Personalise

Additional costs: You will need enough scraps to cover approx 1 metre square of fabric. Scraps will need to be cut prior to the workshop no bigger than 4" x 3" (they can be smaller), they can be a variety of shapes. 0.5 metres of lining fabric, 1.45 metres of webbing, 2 x lobster clips (size to match webbing), 2 x D rings, adjuster & a 12" zip.  I do stock some zips, adjusters, clips & D rings at the workshop. Everything else is included in the price. Bags measure approx. W= 12" D=4" H=8".

Suitable for: Someone who is confident using a sewing machine.
