Do you long to make your own clothes but find it difficult to follow a pattern? This course will give you the skills to make your own unique garment from start to finish. You will select your own pattern and fabric and learn step by step from pattern cutting and making a toile through to the importance of hand finishing. You will be able to learn about different materials, design and patterns. If you have been previously you can bring a more advanced pattern, if you are unsure please drop me an email.
Suggested areas you will learn:
Additional Costs: You will need to provide a 'Very Easy' simple clothes pattern, ideally; Simplicity, Butterick or New Look (one item please) or an independent pattern (Tilly, Sew Over It etc) . You will also need to bring the specified fabric quantity (usually shown on the reverse of the pattern). If you are unsure of your size please drop me an email as you need to check measurements rather than dress size. Tools and refreshments are included in the price.
Please note: The course runs over 6 weeks on a Wednesday evening 6.15-8.30pm from the 21st January to 4th March 2026 (there is no session on the 17th February). Some hand sewing may need to be done at home.
